Our border judge will be Cyril Hackett from Dublin, Ireland.
Cyril started breeding Border Canaries in 1955 and joined the Irish Border Club in 1956. He has exhibited his birds every year since and has had great success. In 1980 he won the Norman Jenkinson Trophy at the British BFCC for Best Three Parts Dark and he won the Irish BFCC five times in the 1970's. His most recent big win was in 2011 when he had fourth Best Border, Best Heavily Variegated and Best Cinnamon at the Irish BFCC.
He has judged most of the major shows in Ireland and UK, including the
British BFCC and the BFCC centenary show at Bathgate in 1990. He has
previously judged twice in the USA, the last time was in Chicago in 2006.
Cyril keeps a few pair of borders, "small select stud", in an outdoor timber shed size 12'x8' and breed between 24 to 48 young birds per year.
